COPPA compliance
VRTCAL ranks high on COPPA compliance, because we go to great lengths to protect advertisers.
With children being one of the fastest-growing online audiences, lawmakers around the world are increasingly focused on protecting children and teens from potential online abuse and privacy violations. In response, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) was enacted in the United States to regulate the collection of personal information from children under 13 by online services, including websites, advertising, and mobile apps.
Navigating COPPA can be difficult, and choosing SSP partners is important.
GDPR, CCPA
GDPR. In 2016, the European Parliament and Council of the European Union adopted a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR provides European residents with the right to provide data collection consent or restrict companies from collecting their personal data.
CPRA which took effect in 2023 is an amendment to CCPA which was the California law on consumer data protection created in 2018. Its regulations are quite similar to GDPR but deal with the privacy protection of California consumers.
VRTCAL is a signatory of the IAB Multi-State Privacy Agreement (MSPA). California, Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee. Texas, Utah and Virginia have all signed privacy laws. Privacy compliance is an evolving standard that VRTCAL supports.
